Ethkick 2019 a Rousing Success!

Ricoh Palmerston North were once again sponsoring Ethkick this year and the 2019 edition was another huge success.

The 10th anniversary tournament at Central Energy Trust Arena went ahead in fine conditions on Saturday despite an ominous forecast, with more than 1000 people attending.

Three trophies were up for grabs on the day, with the bowl competition taken out by Kava Boys, over Arab Palmy and the plate won by European Elite, edging out PN Dons.

The big winners on the day though were Lambordeeney – a team comprised of players of Kiwi and African descent – who won the Cup trophy for the first time.

For the first time this year Central Football managed Junior Ethkick for young players aged 7 to 13, including coaching and providing a taste of getting into organised sport.

Ricoh Palmerston North Branch Manager, Jason Flynn, was coordinating events on the day that saw a total of 39 teams competing, with all three finals being decided by penalty shoot-outs – showing just how fierce the competition was!

Congratulations to all the winners on the day and to everyone who took part in making Ethkick 2019 a great day for all!
